The examples below are taken from my work and highlight the importance of regularly reviewing compliance in your business. Just like preventive health screenings protect people, auditing processes and documentation protects your company from legal risks — and users from health and safety hazards.
A client submitted a surface cleaning product for composition analysis and regulatory compliance. During the review, I identified a pyrrolidone-group substance present in concentrations above the legal limit.
This substance is classified as carcinogenic and harmful to fetal development, and could not be used at the detected concentration. Without correction, the company risked serious legal and health-related consequences.
I revised the product’s composition in close cooperation with the client.

A client requested a legally compliant label for a windshield washer fluid containing methanol. The product was intended for the Polish market.
The high concentration of methanol required a precise definition of the product’s intended use (industrial or consumer) to ensure both legal compliance and user safety.
I reviewed applicable regulations on methanol use.
I defined the product’s application (industrial or consumer) based on the methanol concentration.
I prepared a label that met all legal requirements.
Safety:
I ensured user safety by providing clear, accurate labelling.
Regulatory compliance:
The product was launched with a clearly defined use and full compliance with applicable laws.
While submitting an aerosol product to the Poison Centre Notification (PCN) system, I identified discrepancies in the toxicological information section of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
Errors in the documentation could have prevented proper notification and posed a risk during medical treatment for poisoning incidents.
I identified the documentation errors and informed the client of the necessary corrections.
I revised the SDS to include accurate, detailed guidance on poisoning response procedures.

Medical personnel now have accurate data to reference in case of poisoning.

The product fully met EU requirements and was successfully placed on the market.
During PCN notification of a car interior cleaner, I noticed that one of the raw materials was approved for industrial use only and could not legally be used in consumer products.
The ingredient contained isothiazolinones — substances known to cause allergic reactions, toxic effects, and serious health risks when inhaled.
I contacted the raw material supplier to identify a safer alternative.
I reduced the use of isothiazolinone compounds to minimize toxicity, allergic risks, and overall health hazards.
Safety:
The product became safe for end users, particularly in enclosed spaces such as car interiors.
Regulatory compliance:
The final product was compliant with EU regulations and legally approved for market launch.
